Girard Perregaux Casquette LED in Gold Finish-
In the top 3 of very rare LEDs from the 1970's. The watch was made in very
small quantities and GP also had the LED quartz movement made especially for
the watch. Most LED watchmakers just bought in the movement from one of the
bigger makers, eg Hughes. It is a beautifully engineered piece, weighty but
not overly so, and very comfortable to wear.
This one has a couple of small marks on a couple of links on the bracelet,
no box or papers, but I would give it an 8.5 out of ten, it's that good. The
last steel one sold for £3000 4 years ago.
It is in a very mellow gold finish and is of course running perfectly and
as one of the rarest LEDs, will appreciate in value as the years go on. It
is, of course in all the watch books and as a Girard Perregaux, has interest
as an LED and a high end Swiss watch.
